TOEIC TEST REGISTRATION
Candidates can register for the TOEIC test online or through submission of a filled in registration form downloaded from the TOEIC website. The registration fee can be paid through Visa, Master or American express cards. The payment for mailed in application is through personal or bank check.
Registering for the Open Public Sessions in the U.S.
In U.S. the Open testing sessions are held 12 times in one year span at various locations. The cost of registration is$65. Incase of registering online the payment should be made through a Visa or MasterCard that is registered in the applicants name..
The form should be filled in carefully by the applicant. Important points like including
- first and last name
- date of birth
- U.S. mailing address
- home phone
- e-mail address
- payment information
- test date
- Test location.
should not be neglected.
Registering for Open Public Sessions Outside the U.S.
The candidates are advised to contact the local ETS representative to register. In the absence of a representative in the applicant’s country, or incase the candidate needs an alternate testing location, he should fill out an information request. The ETS may be able to make the test available to the candidate in such cases.
Registration Deadline
The last date for the registration of the Open Test is always a Thursday, one week prior to the test at 5:00 PM, Eastern Time (New York). I.e. if the applicant wishes to take the test on January 15, he should register by 5:00 PM on Thursday, January 6.
Registering for On-site Test Taking
The Employer or the language school of the candidate wishing to take the TOEIC may administer the test. The candidate will be able to get a clearer picture by discussing this with his employer or instructor.
Facts to be remembered during registration:
- The filled in registration form along with a personal or bank check should be sent to the Institute of International Education-TOEIC Center, Room 601, General Commercial Building, 156-164 Des Voeux Road Central, Hong Kong. The check should be made payable to the Institute of International Education. The name of the person appearing for the test should be endorsed at the back of the check. Those who wish to make cash payment will have to register in person at Institute of International Education’s (IIE) office. Payment of cash for registration is not possible through post.
- A fee of 500 HK dollars should be paid by the candidate during registration. The fee amount covers the test, i.e. both the listening and the reading sections of the test, the professional certificate as well as the score report.
- The fee paid for registration and the postal services are not refundable.
- The candidate should be careful while filling out the check. The IIE TOEIC center would not take any responsibility for invalid checks or the bank charges levied on them.
- The confirmation of the registration along with a copy of the TOEIC examinee handbook, receipt, and admission ticket would be mailed to the candidate within one week from the date of submission of the payment and registration form.
- In case the candidate wishes to reschedule the test date after his registration he should notify the IIE of his intentions at least 5 days prior to the original test date. The notification has to be made through the submission of a Test Rescheduling form completed and mailed to the IIE by the candidate himself. The new schedule date should be planned within a 3 month period of the original test date. A handling charge of 50$ (HK) has to be paid for every reschedule that is made. It is crucial that the request for the reschedule is submitted to the IIE 5 working days before the original test date. Incase this regulation is neglected the registration fee of 500$(HK) will not be refunded and the candidate will have to restart his registration process from the beginning.
- Any change of address or re-issuance of Hong Kong Workplace English Campaign Benchmark statement will be charged 50$(HK) by the IIE. Incase of request of additional copy of score report the same would be charged for each copy.
- Responsibility of lost mail will not be bourn by the IIE. To avoid such accidents the candidates are advise to choose the registered mail option for correspondence of score report, certificate and benchmark, available during registration. This option is available for a charge of just 20$(HK). By choosing this facility the candidate could be ensured of save arrival of his results. If the correspondence is to an address outside Hong Kong, the candidate has to submit a further fee of 10$(HK) to the IIE during registrations.
- In the event of the score report an professional certificates being lost due to incomplete or erroneous address on the registration form or lost mail, a request for reissue can be made for a handling charge is $50 for the score report and HK$200 for the Professional certificate.
