GRE SCORING
The latest method introduced by the ETS in calculation of the students GRE score consists of three sections and an overall total score. The first part consists of the scores from the Verbal section. The score range for this section is between 200 to 800 points. The next part is the Quantitative section which also has a score range of 200 to 800 points.
The third section is the Analytical writing section where the score range is on a scale of 0 to 6. The writing assessment is awarded on half point increments. The total score is calculated out of 1600 where the total of both verbal and quantitative sections is taken together. The writing assessment section score is not included to the total score.
Apart from these scores a percentage score report is presented. The percentage report contains the percentage of students who have scored below the score range of the student. This percentage assessment is calculated among the entire number of students who had appeared for the GRE test in the span of three year period. This percentage score is helpful in measuring the skills needed by an applicant to gain admission in a particular business. It is a comparison report that’s useful to the school’s management to assess the applicant with other applicants and the students admitted over a time period.
