DAT Scoring

The DAT score sheet contains seven distinctive scores. The first three scores are the results of the three sections -Reading Comprehension, Perceptual Ability, Quantitative Reasoning; while the next three scores denote the science disciplines tested in Survey of Natural Sciences—biology, general chemistry, and organic chemistry. The seventh score is the Academic Average Score representing the over all percentage performance of the student in entire test excluding the section testing the student on Perceptual Ability.

Each of the scores is graded on a scale of 1-30. While a score of thirty is the highest score range achievable by a student, a score of 16 indicates average performance on a national basis. Since the scores are calculated on the number of questions the student had answered correctly, there is no negative marking.

The students are given their results immediately on completing the exam. The score sheets are usually dispatched within three weeks to 5 different dental colleges of the student’s choice that has to be mentioned during registration. For extra score sheets the students are required to pay a sum of 5$ for each copy requested. The score sheet usually contains the scores of the four most recent attempts of the student
