CPA Test Dates
The computer-based Uniform CPA Examination is made available to the students about 60 days out of each calendar quarter. This 60-day period is called a testing window.
There are four testing windows each calendar year. A candidate is allowed to take any of the four examination sections during any testing window. The candidate is not allowed to take each section of the test not more than once in the testing window period. Candidates can make schedule for specific dates and times during a window at a regional testing center.
The examination is provided in testing windows to allocate for systems and databank maintenance. For example, during 2007, the testing windows are:
- January 1st -- February 28th
- April 2nd -- May 31st
- July 2nd – August 31st
It is essential to prepare consequently; it is the responsibility of the student to schedule the remaining sections of the examination to avoid loosing credit for the sections that they have already passed. It is compulsory that the student pass all four sections within an 18-month period.
NASBA advocates students to schedule their appointments at least 45 days earlier to the date of their examination. The board is responsible of the processing of the students application and advance the required information to NASBA within 5 business days of receiving their application. NASBA issues the students their NTS after 2 weeks of processing. It is highly recommended that the students apply no later than the 15th of the month prior to the window for which they wish to plan their appointment.
Students can program their test dates online at www.prometric.com\cpa, or by calling 1-800-580-9648 (Candidate Services Call Center) or contacting their local test center.
