CPA Sections
The Boards of Accountancy authorizes suitable candidates to appear for any sections of the Examination in any testing window and in any order they wish. As a rule, the candidates are not permitted to take any single section twice in the same testing window.
AUDITING:
Auditing & Attestation (AUD) section is a 4 and a half hours test. The topics covered under this section include
- Planning the engagement and enter agreement (22%-28%).
- Evaluation of Internal Control (12%-18%).
- Obtaining and Documentation of Evidence (32%-38%).
- Reviewing the engagement to provide reasonable assurance that objectives are achieved and evaluate information obtained to reach and to document engagement conclusions (8%-12 %).
- Preparing communications (reports and letters) to satisfy engagement objectives (12%-18%).
FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING AND REPORTING (FAR)
Financial Accounting & Reporting section has to be completed within the 4 hours time frame. This section tests students knowledge in preparing:
- Concepts and standards for financial statements (17%-23%).
- Typical items in financial statements in conformity with generally accepted accounting principles (27%-33%).
- Specific types of transactions and events in financial statements (27%-33%).
- Governmental Entities (8%-12%).
- Nongovernmental not-for-profit organizations (8%-12%).
REGULATION (REG)
Regulation section is a 3 hours paper that helps evaluate the students’ knowledge of:
- Ethics and professional and legal responsibilities (15%-20%).
- Business Law (20%-25%).
- Federal tax procedures (8%-12%).
- Federal taxation - property transactions (8%-12%).
- Federal taxation - individuals (12%-18%).
- Federal taxation - entities (22%-28%).
BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT (BEC)
Business Environment & Concepts is a 2and a half hours paper assessing the students skills in:
Business Structure (17%-23%).
Economics (8%-12%).
Information Technology (22%-28%).
Planning and Measurement (22%-28%).
